Inspection and replacement policy with a fixed periodic schedule

چکیده
We study an inspection and replacement policy for a system when maintenance actions are executed at times or “visits” with fixed, periodic schedule. Then, the novel focus of paper is not to schedule but what known times. Violations (defaults) may occur because time resource limited. The model motivated by typically used high-value, engineered systems e.g. windfarms, transportation systems, manufacturing lines. This motivation underlies importance work. Inspections modelled using delay concept. System lifetime heterogeneous, so that early defects, due say poor quality parts installation, occur. There lag between failure corrective we cost downtime. determine cost-rate, reliability average availability initial (preventive maintenance) phase followed wear-out (corrective phase. A numerical example illustrates investigates characteristics policy. Results indicate scheduled preventive effective visit-frequency have largest effect on performance. scalable multi-component in way facilitates grouping policies.

Scheduling Inspection Operations subject to a Fixed Production Schedule
This paper deals with an optimization problem in which a set of inspection operations have to be processed so that a fixed production schedule is as reliable as possible. The problem is formalized as a parallel machine scheduling problem whose objective is to minimize a regular step total cost function. Mixed Integer Linear Programming models are described for the cases with and without release...
متن کاملA periodic inspection and replacement policy for systems subject to competing failure modes due to degradation and traumatic events
This paper deals with the condition-based maintenance of single-unit systems which are subject to the competing and dependent failures due deterioration and traumatic shock events. The main aim is to provide a model to assess the value of condition monitoring information for the maintenance decision-making. A condition-based periodic inspection/replacement policy is developed and compared with ...
متن کاملMinimizing the Number of Vehicles to Meet a Fixed Periodic Schedule: An Application of Periodic Posets
In this paper we consider countably infinite partially ordered sets (posets) in which the order relations occur periodically. We show that the problem of determining the minimum number of chains (completely ordered subsets) needed to cover all of the elements may be solved efficiently as a finite network flow problem. A special case of the chain-cover problem for periodic posets is the problem ...

This paper analyzes a renewal input working vacations queue with change over times and Bernoulli schedulevacation interruption under (a,c,b) policy. The service and vacation times are exponentially distributed. The server begins service if there are at least c units in the queue and the service takes place in batches with a minimum of size a and a maximum of size b (a
متن کاملOptimal Inspection Schedule in an Imperfect Emq Model with Free Repair Warranty Policy
Abstract The paper considers a sequential inspection policy in an imperfect production process which shifts randomly from an ‘in-control’ state to an ‘out-of-control’ state following a general probability distribution. Two different inspection policies are adopted in the proposed model: (i) no action is taken in the intermediate of a production run unless the process is found in an ‘out-of-cont...
